Terms of Service

These terms govern the services Comptify provides to its clients. They apply as soon as a quote is accepted or an engagement letter is signed.

Last updated: September 23, 2026

This is a translation. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.

In short: Comptify provides bookkeeping, payroll, GST/QST and financial tracking services at a fixed monthly price, with no long-term commitment. Comptify is not a firm of chartered professional accountants: reserved services are provided by our partners.

01Who we are

The services are provided by Comptify ("Comptify", "we"), whose head office is located at 176 chemin Principale, Saint-Sauveur, Quebec.

Comptify is a bookkeeping services team. Comptify is not a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec and does not present itself as a CPA firm.

02Services offered

Depending on the plan and options chosen, Comptify may provide:

  • Bookkeeping: monthly categorization and reconciliation of bank and credit card transactions.
  • Management financial statements: balance sheet, income statement and, depending on the plan, cash flow, produced monthly for the business's internal tracking.
  • GST and QST: preparation and filing of sales tax returns based on the books kept by Comptify.
  • Payroll (add-on): payroll calculation, source deduction remittances, records of employment, T4 and RL-1 slips and year-end summaries.
  • Financial tracking: dashboards, indicators and cash flow forecasts.
  • Year-end file: preparation of the books and supporting documents for the annual financial statements and income tax returns.
  • One-time services: catch-up bookkeeping and onboarding (file setup).

The details of the services included for each client are confirmed in writing in the quote or engagement letter, which takes precedence over the general description on the website.

03Excluded services and partners

Comptify does not itself provide the following services:

  • annual financial statements intended for third parties, and compilation, review or audit engagements;
  • the preparation and signing of income tax returns (T2, CO-17, T1, TP-1) and tax advice;
  • legal, business valuation or investment advice.

For these services, Comptify works with independent partner accountants and tax specialists. These services are offered on a quoted basis. The partner is responsible for their professional work, in accordance with the rules that govern them. Comptify coordinates the file and shares the necessary information, with your authorization.

04Plans and volume

Plans are based on monthly transaction volume and the number of bank accounts and cards:

PlanMonthly priceVolume included
Essential$250Up to 50 transactions · 2 accounts
Growth$500Up to 150 transactions · 4 accounts
Performance$950Up to 400 transactions · 8 accounts
Payroll add-on$50 + $12 per employeeBased on the number of employees paid in the month

Volume overage

An occasional overage is not billed. If volume exceeds the plan limit for three consecutive months, Comptify will notify you and suggest the appropriate plan. No price change is applied without your written consent.

05Pricing, billing and payment

  • Prices are in Canadian dollars, before GST and QST.
  • The fixed monthly price is confirmed in writing after the discovery call.
  • Plans are billed at the beginning of each month and paid by credit card.
  • The onboarding fee ($250 to $500) is billed once, at start-up.
  • Catch-up bookkeeping (from $150 per month behind) and partner services are billed according to the accepted quote.
  • Any amount unpaid after 30 days bears interest at 2% per month (24% per year). Comptify may suspend services after 10 days' written notice if an account remains unpaid.
  • Prices may be revised no more than once a year, with 30 days' written notice.

06Your responsibilities

The quality of the work depends on the information received. As a client, you agree to:

  • provide accurate and complete information and supporting documents within the requested time frames;
  • give Comptify the necessary access (banks, software, government portals) and notify it of any change;
  • answer Comptify's questions within a reasonable time;
  • review reports and returns before they are filed, and promptly report any error;
  • keep your supporting documents for the period required by law (generally six years).

You remain responsible for your tax and legal obligations, your business decisions and the payment of amounts owed to governments.

07Our commitments

  • Provide the services with care, competence and diligence.
  • Answer questions received by email or chat in under 4 business hours on average (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
  • Produce monthly management financial statements, generally between the 5th and the 10th of the following month, once all documents have been received.
  • Assign a dedicated team member to each client.
  • Promptly inform you of any situation that may affect a deadline.

08Government deadlines

Comptify meets filing deadlines when documents and information are provided at least 14 days before the due date.

Comptify is not responsible for penalties, interest or fees resulting from a delay or error caused by incomplete, inaccurate or late information, or by a payment not made by the client. If a penalty results directly from an error by Comptify, Comptify will reimburse it, subject to section 10.

09Privacy and data

  • Comptify handles your information confidentially, in accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
  • Your data is stored on a secure portal, protected by encryption and two-factor authentication.
  • Your information is shared with third parties (for example, our partner accountants and tax specialists) only with your authorization or where required by law.
  • Details on how your information is handled are set out in our Privacy Policy.

10Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Comptify's total liability for any claim related to the services is limited to the fees paid by the client during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Comptify is not liable for indirect damages, such as loss of profits or business opportunities, nor for the professional work performed by its partners. This limitation does not apply in the case of intentional or gross fault.

11Term and termination

  • Plans are monthly, with no long-term commitment, and renew automatically each month.
  • You may terminate at any time with 30 days' written notice.
  • Comptify may also terminate with 30 days' written notice, or immediately in the event of persistent non-payment, fraudulent information or a serious breach.
  • At the end of the contract, Comptify provides you with a complete copy of your books and documents, once all amounts owed are paid, and transfers the file to your new provider on request.
  • Comptify's access to your accounts is removed at the end of the contract. We recommend changing any shared passwords.

12General provisions

  • Comptify may amend these terms. Active clients are notified in writing at least 30 days before a material change takes effect.
  • In case of conflict, the signed quote or engagement letter takes precedence over these terms.
  • If a clause is found invalid, the remaining clauses remain in force.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Terrebonne, at the Saint-Jérôme courthouse.
